Just out of college in 1950. First job as a social investigator for the Department of Welfare in New York City. Training class and there was Josephine, a fellow Investigator. She always had a special laugh and we hit it off. Fast forward to Smithtown School District and guess who was there? Josephine Ciaravella. We reconnected. At one point I was chosen to fill out the school year of first graders at Head of the River. The first graders were so deficient in their reading skills and they all needed individual help. The district sent someone to help me test the kids. Who did they send? Josephine! I bet she never lost her laugh.
