I"m remembering a summer vacation visiting our cousins in Port Jeff. Jennifer was little and afraid to go in the pool. Leave it to Jay. He talked to her and the next thing we knew, Jenn was in the pool with him. He was so gentle that she knew she would be safe with him. Jenn and I love you Jay.

Jay and I worked together for so many years. We became more like brothers than teammates, we were always a team. We helped each other without being asked or needing to tell.

Jay was always the rock that got us through the worst times. His very presence brought strength and stability any situation. I’ll miss him.

I had the privilege of working with Jay for over 25 years. He was always good-natured, knowledgeable, and willing to help (and so proud of his family). Like Martha, I am glad we had the opportunity for that last lunch in Port Jefferson. He is gone too soon.

Dear Jay,
You were an absolute joy to work with. You had a genuine and warm demeanor that touched everyone. I will miss you my friend. So glad that we all got a chance to have lunch at Port Jefferson a few years back. That was a special reunion and we had hoped to have many more. Things always seem to get in the way, don't they. I know you are in heaven regaling others with stories of your friends and family who you so obviously treasured and adored. Until we meet again, Martha

I didn’t know Jay very long, but I have fond memories of him as a colleague at Empire and as a friend.

I viewed Jay as a kind of Superman figure. Smart, strong, principled.
And with a wry sense of humor too.

I’m glad I had the chance to speak to with him on the phone a few weeks ago.

I feel grateful to have known him.
