Today Wednesday September 4th marks Mike's final Mass and beautiful send-off to heaven. So, we speak of this fine husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and cousin. Not every family member remembers when they first met Mike, but all confirm it was during the beginning romance of the great love of his life, Peggy. Their Irish eyes kept smiling for more than forty years onward from that day forward 7/9/79. At his son's First Holy Communion, Mike beamed proudly. One Thanksgiving, his teen-agers played at his parent's in laws' condo. As our own family began, we admired his. He came to our children's milestone celebrations and always remarked kindly about the love he saw between us and our children. Time flies by so quickly, so witnessing a younger great love celebrated reminded him of early years with Kerry, Tara and Sean. He danced with joy when they married. Mike valued education and earned multiple degrees. He saw that his children attended college. We emulated this fine character trait of his for our youngest this weekend; so we missed Monday's visitations. Edward McQuade stated that, at an early age, Mike displayed a strong work ethic. Later, he balanced that by playing golf or watching the Yankees or listening to the Beatles. Paraphrasing the Notre Dame reference in the homily/eulogy from his old friend/seminary pal, Father Bill, after many years of knowing Mike, we can be certain of 2 things: 1) Mike loves God and his family with his heart and soul; and 2) Mike modeled brilliance and kindness towards all in his actions. On the South Shore tonight, heavy six o'clock rains yielded a fully arched rainbow. Certainly, Mike was sliding down on it into Jesus's arms. As you rest in peace, please, Mike, shine your prayerful light down on the families you so loved. We pray for their strength during the upcoming difficult days. Amen. Love, The Long Beach McQuade Family: Eddie, Patti, Eddie, Peter and Claire.

I had gone to school with Mike’s daughters, but actually had the privilege of working with him at my first job out of college, at Mr. Trimarco’s office. He truly was a sweetheart of a man. Always so kind and easy to talk to; he will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew him. May he rest in peace.

I was honored to know and work with Mike for 9 years as his legal assistant. We had a great working relationship, being as Mike was always kind and easy to laugh. Mike was special. He was the best attorney I ever worked with. I never wanted any other attorney, but Mike. I will miss him and hope that he is with his family in heaven.
My sincere condolences to his wife, children and grand children. Leslie Reynolds

Peggy and Family,
Mike and I both send our condolences to you and will keep you in our prayers at this difficult time. There are no words that will ease your pain right now. There is a Irish Headstone that reads, "Death leaves a heartache, no one can heal, Love leaves memories no one can steal." May you find comfort in those memories and may many of them bring a smile to your face and help you navigate the days ahead. You are all in our prayers.

Mike and I worked together for a lot of years in an office I was running in Garden City. Mike was always a gentleman and he was a good lawyer. He was already to help out as needed and was well-liked by everyone.
My condolences to Peggy and his family.
