On June 13, 2019 at 9:26 am, my wife of almost 53 years, Nancy Doris Tzemis, peacefully took her last breath while I was whispering in her ear and caressing her face.
Our memories of Nancy are countless. Nancy was the love of my life. She was an outstanding, kind, generous and wonderful wife as well as partner and friend to me. She was an exemplary mother to our daughters Sophia, Nicole, and Jennifer. Nancy was an inspiring and patient grandmother to Evangelos and Jennifer, a good mother-in-law to Evagoras, and a loving sister to Frank. She kept our immediate and extended family in her heart, both here in the US and in Greece. As our family grew, she welcomed each new member with open arms. She often remembered her aunts, uncles, and cousins, and loved to retell stories from our family history.
Nancy was a dedicated teacher who cared deeply for her students. She spoke to her students in their first language: music. As an opera singer, she shared her passion when she founded the Staten Island Opera Ensemble. She befriended many; her smile and open heart easily won people over and created many friendships throughout her lifetime.
Nancy cherished each friendship, the love, and the laughter she found in this world.
Now she's gliding beyond the rainbows, drifting above the sky, and listening joyfully to the harmonic music of angels in Heaven. She is in a place of living light that shines forever. Nancy brought to her eternal home the love of those who have loved her, the happiness, memories, and magic we all shared.
Honey, we are saddened by our loss, but I know our daughter Jennifer Lynn is rejoicing. After eighteen years of separation, she can once again embrace her beautiful mother. God speed, my love.
Forever yours,
Stam

Doris brought her love of music and gift of voice to her students, friends and family. Her love of Opera and performance at Jones Beach will always be remembered. Stan was the love of her life and she felt blessed to have found him. Her daughters and grandchildren gave her such joy and she was proud of their accomplishments. Her smiling face and generous spirit will be missed.
We love you Doris. Barbara Mastrion Morano
